Tuesday 5th November 2013

Sadly we are still waiting for a definite time/day for our flight to Wau. Instead today we visited Juba hospital to look at improvements there. This included an introduction to the nurse and midwifery training school. We were shown a well-equipped skills laboratory for trainee midwives. A nurse tutor on the ward was observed working with one of the students explaining how to assess a patient. We also were impressed with notes folders and medication charts being used. Peter Pal Chol also introduced us to the director general of the hospital.

This afternoon Antoinette, Prem and Bruce did some more scenarios in preparation for the triage teaching session and together we made final preparations for when we eventually arrive in Wau . Hilary did a lot of phoning and sending e-mails to try and expedite our travel to Wau. Now we are relaxing by the Nile!
